Mazed
: (mayz’d) a subjective state of intricate, meandering meditation and/or bewilderment. Also: dazed and confused. Muse: (myooz) Gr. Myth. one of the nine inspirational goddesses who preside over literature and the arts and sciences: Calliope (eloquence and epic poetry), Clio (history), Euterpe (music and lyric poetry), Melpomene (tragedy), Terpsichore (dance), Erato (erotic lyric poetry), Polyhymnia ( sacred poetry) , Urania (astronomy), and Thalia (comedy and pastoral poetry).Their Celtic sisters are the nine maidens who breathed on the potion in Cerridwen’s cauldron of Inspiration to keep it warm. It was said that whoever tasted one drop of the mix would be privy to all the wisdom and gifts of the gods.
