An epic tale of Celtic Brittany and the New World,  blending the classical quest of the mythic hero with the awakening powers of a young Druid priestess.

Song of the White Swan

A novel by

Aleta Boudreaux

Set in Celtic Brittany, France and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in 1491, Song of the White Swan  follows the life of a young Breton woman as she fights to defend her faith in the Goddess and her love for a Micmac shaman

The inspiration for this novel began when I discovered the similarities in the Ancient Druid and the Native American traditions, both  in ceremony and customs.

The Druids call upon Mother Moon, the Great Goddess and the Ancient Ones.

The Micmac called upon Mother Moon and Grandfather Sun  for strength and guidance.

They believe Great Power, Kij Kinap, to be the Creator and protector of all life.

Both traditions honor nature, believe in magic and the power to heal the spirit as well as the body.

The Micmac Shamans and the Druid Priests were the spiritual heads of their peoples. They were the healers and magicians, using herbs and magic in service to their path.

What would happen if the two cultures met?

What would happen if the Knights Templar, a group dedicated to protecting the Christian philosophy intertwined with these two cultures?
